Are you the next Newbury Young Musician of the Year?
First Prize - £2000
The Newbury Young Musician of the Year competition is well-established amongst young talented musicians aged 15 – 19 living within 30 miles of Newbury Town Hall.
A Southern Sinfonia partnership project funded by Greenham Common Community Trust Ltd. it encourages String, Wind, Brass, Piano or Percussion players of Grade 8 standard in the area to enter.
First prize is a cheque for £2,000 plus the chance to play on stage with Southern Sinfonia, under its internationally known Music Director David Hill. Entrants will be judged by a professional group of judges, initially by submitting a simple disc/MP3 file by Friday 24 February 2012. Heats will be held in April and the final on Sunday 24 June 2012 the Corn Exchange, Newbury.
