I want to make giving 10 percent of your legacy to charity the new norm in our country

Legacy Giving
Leave your own Musical Legacy
For all of us, the time comes when we need to write a Will to ensure we protect our family and friends for the future and leave a legacy to the organisations that are important to us. When you are preparing your Will, please consider making a gift to Southern Sinfonia.
Leaving a legacy to SS provides a much-valued way in which to express your enthusiasm and appreciation for the work that we do as an orchestra. By remembering us in your Will you will be helping the orchestra to maintain its high-quality artistic programmes, to continue to develop our pioneering education and community projects and provide pleasure through music to many future generations.
A common misconception is that legacies need to be enormous quantities of money. This is simply not true. Any gift left to Southern Sinfonia, however large or small, is fundamentally important to us and will make a real difference to the work we are able to undertake. And from April 2012, all those who leave 10 percent or more of their estate to charity will benefit from a 10 percent reduction in inheritance tax, from 40% to 36%.
We understand that a person’s love of music is deeply personal to them and therefore should you wish to leave a gift in your Will to encourage a specific area of the orchestra’s work, we will ensure that your wishes are carried out as you would want them to be. We are very happy to talk in confidence and answer any questions you may have about legacy giving. Should you wish to discuss this, please contact us on 01635 580035.
